Welcome to RISE!

We are a community based transition program designed to assist in the transition from school to adult life.  The Transitional Educational Program is a collaborative effort between students, families, cooperating school districts, and adult service providers.  The program for individual students uses a person-centered approach in which the individual’s needs and desires are designed by the student and his/her team.

Classroom vs. Work

Classroom

As much as possible classroom instruction will take place in the community. The students will shop in the community, find leisure activities that suit their interests, learn to volunteer, and also identify key places in the community that will benefit them as they transition to adulthood.

Employment

We will work as a team to find employment that fits the individual, their wants, and their abilities. The skills will be taught using a job coach. As the worker is able to be more independent, the coach will fade. The goal is for the worker to be as independent as possible.
